Who Is Darion Lance ?

I am a 25-year-old singer/songwriter/rapper and video director from Providence, Rhode Island. I began singing at 7 years old and song writing in the 8th grade. I knew being an artist was my lane at an early age when I was recording songs I wrote in my uncle’s bedroom. During that time I was mainly rapping and going by the name “Yung Wrecless” in 2009. My sophomore year of high school I switched it up and started taking my singing it little more seriously. My first performance I ever did was in High school and I sang a song that I wrote. I was still learning how to format songs and sing on key, but the crowd loved it and my confidence. My brand is called “R&B that’s me“ which represents my love for R&B music and the culture. To really know me, you would have to be in the studio while I’m cooking up and creating. That’s the real me, that’s my true
element when I’m able to create amazing art based off my life experiences, relationships, trials, and tribulations everything all in one.

Who would you consider your influences in the music industry?

My first music industry influence would definitely have to be an usher for simply fact that I grew up listening to his 8701 album and his my way album. Not only that but him starting at a young age, inspired me to become someone. My next one would be Eric Bellinger, who I had the pleasure of meeting twice once in Providence and another time in Hollywood at California Tacos. I heard about him in 2014 from someone I was working with and he introduced me to his music shortly afterwards he became one of my favorites due to his crazy work ethic, his songwriting skills and his sound. My next one would definitely be Michael Jackson easily because he was one of the first singers I’ve ever listened to growing up.

What would you consider your biggest accomplishment thus far in your career?

My biggest accomplishment thus far in my career would probably be performing in Oakland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. I definitely saw the love in different cities oppose to performing back home where many people will hate on you for bringing something different to the table. I’ve always wanted to perform in California It’s always been a dream of mine and I accomplished it in 2017 and 2018.

What legacy would you like to leave behind for yourself?

The legacy I would like to leave behind would be that I made it happen against all odds and left my family a fortune to survive on and live comfortably from the fruits of my labor. I’ve been homeless and cried real tears for the music life to give my family a life they always dreamed of. I want my fans and family to always remember that I grinded day in and day out for this. Last but least, that I gave it my 100% even when I was at my lowest.

Where do you see yourself in the music industry in the next 5 years?

I honestly could say, I’ll let time and God do the work. I can also say depending on how hard I work and the risks I’m willing to take that’s how far I’ll go. Anything is possible, I just need to always have the right people in my corner and make the right choices.

Any shout outs?

I’d like to give some shoutouts first to my mother for always being there to support my dreams even when it sounds crazy love you. Next I’d like to shout out my brother EJay for sharing the same gift as me but also being one of my biggest fans and critics love boy. I’d like to thank girlfriend for always loving and supporting me even when times are tough. Last but not least I’d like to shout out my true supporters that were rocking with me since day one your love never goes unnoticed.
