Joshua Bermudez, also known as “Hollywood Pompeii,” was born in Brooklyn’s Coney Island. Pompeii is close to D. Chambers and Nems FYL because they all grew up in Coney Island. He got into rap after his mother gave him The Fugees’ “The Score” record, which opened his eyes to rap and made him fall in love with it.

Pompeii was so into music and wanted to be a rapper at the age of 12 that he composed a letter to Diddy and Mase and shipped it to Bad Boy’s New York office, trying to get recognized by them. Mase, the city’s number one rapper at the time, influenced him. When he realized he needed a name, he chose Pompeii, and his cousin gave him the name Hollywood because he was always acting in Hollywood; thus, Hollywood Pompeii became his name.

After a string of poor luck, Pompeii decided to abandon rapping and concentrate on the business side of the game. Carlos Brown, a consultant for QC and Boosie, traveled with Pompeii for three years, which is when he began to pick up his camera. Pompeii began to fall in love with filmmaking and would do it anytime he had the opportunity. He began making music videos for musicians such as Lil Boosie, Kevin Gates, Lil Baby, Casanova 2X, Meztheprod, Rob49, G9, PBE Pluto, and others after some time and perfecting his technique.

Hollywood Pompeii has worked his way up from the ground up and is now shooting music videos for many of the music industry’s biggest names. While establishing a successful career as a cameraman, Pompeii aspires to one day place his son in a position to take over and carry on his heritage.
