Who Is Sambo?
SAMBO (all caps) also known as Chikki Kush, is an independent artist from New Orleans, Louisiana and now hailing from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Who would you consider your influences in the music industry?
Throughout my life, I’ve been heavily influenced by a variety of down South legends/musicians, such as The Hot Boys, Soulja Slim, Lil Boosie, UGK, Three 6 Mafia, also new school influences. Dave East, G Herbo, Future, Pewee Longway. Etc.
What would you consider your biggest accomplishment thus far in your career?
My biggest accomplishment thus far would be hitting a milestone with a goal I set of releasing a certain amount of content within a quarter with solid promotion. I often set standards to meet so I could flow steady with planning LZ.
What legacy would you like to leave behind for yourself?
I want to leave a legacy by supporting the people and causes that are important to me. And give back to the community, build the community, also giving knowledge to those in need.
Where do you see yourself in the music industry in the next 5 years?
I could see myself being independent or being with an independent label. Very successful career also. Definitely in the top 10 of favorite artists /best artists.
